Crazy Winter Events in Wisconsin U.S.A.
From February 12 to 28, 2010, The Winter Olympics are underway in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Not to be outdone, the tiny U.S. town of Drummond (population 574) conducted its own annual winter games, the Drummond 11th Annual Bar Stool Races on Saturday, February 13, 2010, where 49 teams met to race bar stools attached to skis down a hill.

Racers sped down Brian Miller Hill on sleds made from bar stools to win the coveted trophy. This year’s first place went to Team Pehler, with second-place honours going to Team Kyote. The annual event is a fundraiser for the Drummond Sno-Jacks snowmobile club.

Drummond is located in northwest Wisconsin, Bayfield County, on Highway 63 and is surrounded by National Forest.

Meanwhile, 30 miles east of Columbus, the capital and largest city in the U.S. state of Ohio, Police charged Kile Wygle, 28, with operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The vehicle was a barstool outfitted with wheels and a lawnmower engine capable of going 38 miles per hour. Wygle was hospitalised for minor injuries after coming to grief driving his stool after consuming 15 beers.
